The Federal Government is targeting April this year to settle outstanding debts owed to power-generating plants in the country as part of steps taken to provide incentives for the continuous operation of the plants for improved power generation and supply.
While at Egbin power plant in Lagos, Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power also says the Government has taken decisive steps to facilitate access to foreign exchange for generation companies to sustain the allocations and improve power supply.
This is in addition to ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and gas suppliers to address gas supply constraints and facilitate debt facilitates.
Federal Government, the Power Minister says is committed to finding solutions that will benefit the entire sector and contribute to its long-term sustainability.
