In a devastating incident reported by The Sparklightnews, a fierce fire broke out today, Tuesday, at 3:23 a.m., which lasted more than an hour, wreaking havoc on shops and houses in Anuoluwapo Street, Shomolu Local Government Area of Lagos.
The blaze, caused by electrical faults, consumed goods worth millions of naira. Despite residents’ attempts to quell the flames, their efforts proved futile, prompting an urgent call to the fire service for assistance.
According to The Sparklightnews, the Lagos Fire Service faced criticism for a delayed response upon arrival, leading to frustration among residents. Reportedly, the fire service personnel were met with anger from the locals and left without providing any assistance.
Following residents’ reports to the station, The Sparklightnews report that the Nigerian police intervened, escorting them to quell the destructive path of the fire.
