Monday Okpebholo, Edo State Governor has ordered the immediate payment of the thirteenth month salary of civil servants in the state to spice up the festive period for the workers.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Mr. Fred Itua, Edo State Governor Chief Press Secretary on Monday morning which stated that , “the payment which has commenced is in line with the promise made by the state governor, despite what he described as the criticism by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the state who doubted the 13th month salary.
According to the statement, the Edo State Governor is ready to pay Edo workers as at when due monthly, saying he came prepared to govern the state. He noted that the governor is doing this to motivate the workers in other to put in their best to ensure growth and development in the state.
“The approval of the 13th month salary payment to workers in Edo state, was also lauded by the head of service Anthony Okungbowa who promised the workers that their salaries are Paramount to the Edo State governor.”
