The presence of security operatives was actively notice at the National Assembly as the Nigerian Senate commenced the screening of 28 ministerial nominees sent to the House by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last week.

It could be recalled that President Tinubu submitted the list of nominees to the Senate on Thursday, July 27, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The Senate was scheduled to commence the screening today at 11:00 am. However, according to reports, there was a delay and the screening eventually commenced around 12:48 PM.

It was learnt that there was a restriction of access to the National Assembly to only staff, those with accreditation tags, nominees, and a few family members and associates.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said the Senate has formed a quorum, hence, the commencement of the day’s plenary session.
