Immigration Comptroller-General Redeploys 15 Passport Control Officers

As part of effort to bring maximum reforms to the Service, Caroline Adepoju, the acting Comptroller General of Immigration Service, has approved the immediate redeployment of no fewer than 15 Passport Control Officers.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by ACI Kenneth Kure, the Service’s Public Relations Officer.

The statement added that the deployment is part of NIS management’s drive to upgrade passport administration at home and in foreign Missions.

The NIS’s image maker said the acting Comptroller-General assured that the Service remains committed to transforming Passport offices into customer-centric service centres.

He said the affected Passport offices include Alausa and Festac both in Lagos, as well as the ones in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba and Ondo, among others.

The statement read partly, “The deployment is part of NIS management’s drive to upgrade the Passport administration both at home and in our foreign Missions. The Ag CGI assured that the current leadership of the Service, remains resolute in its commitment to transforming Passport offices into customer-centric service centres.

“In the Posting Order, signed by the Ag. Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Human Resource Management, Usman Babangida, the affected Passport offices included, Alausa and Festac both in Lagos, as well as the ones in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba and Ondo, among others.

“Acting CGI Adepoju has enjoined all affected officers in the redeployment to bring their wealth of experience to their new offices, and contribute to the improvement of service delivery. Emphasizing the importance of “service above self,” the Ag. CGI stated that only the most capable and dedicated individuals will henceforth be assigned to sensitive positions. This commitment to excellence ensures that citizens receive nothing less than the best service possible.”
