General Manager Lagos State Drivers’ Institute ( LASDRI) Mrs. Tiamiyu Afusat has urged the motoring public to prioritise safety this yuletide season, With increased traffic, festive celebrations, and potentially hazardous hazy weather.

The advice was contained in her Christmas message to the commuting public, adding that this period is often characterised by increased movement and activity on roads, leading to an increased risk of traffic crashes if safety measures are not given the needed attention. She noted that safety messages at this period emphasise that the greatest gift you can give your loved ones is your safe arrival.
Tiamiyu said, “Prioritise road safety by not drinking and driving, avoid distractions like your phone, get enough rest to suppress stress and fatigue, obey the traffic speed limit, and ensure that all passengers wear seatbelts. Plan your trip so that you can go at a normal pace and stay away from busy roads and potential bad weather to help emergency services focus on genuine emergencies and preventable crashes.”
The GM urged motorists to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) to improve and upgrade their driving skills annually, adding that the institute has about 15 training centres across Lagos State to take care of all training needs.
