The Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University has approved the appointments of Prof. Afolake Atinuke Olanbiwoninu and Prof. Adeyemi Olukayode Binuyo as Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Council held on Monday, March 16, 2026.
According to the university, Olanbiwoninu, of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology, was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Binuyo, of the Department of Mathematics, will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
The appointments were conveyed in separate memos signed by the Registrar, Bode Olofinmuagun, following their election on February 23, 2026, at a special meeting of the University Senate.
The memos stated that the appointments are for an initial term of two years, renewable for another two-year term, in line with the provisions of the university law.
It further outlined that the Deputy Vice-Chancellors will assist the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day administration of the institution and carry out other duties as may be assigned.
The appointments are expected to strengthen the university’s administrative and academic leadership structure.
