The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has contained a fire outbreak at a mechanical workshop on Oladunni Street, Isheri-Idimu, Alimosho Local Government Area, preventing it from spreading to a nearby petrol station.
The fire, which occurred beside Eternal Filling Station, was reported at about 3:05 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, prompting the immediate deployment of LASEMA’s Dolphin Response Team from Igando.
According to the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, emergency responders discovered on arrival that the fire had engulfed a mechanical workshop where several exotic vehicles were parked.
He said the coordinated intervention of LASEMA, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the Nigeria Police Force prevented the inferno from spreading to the filling station and nearby buildings.
The agency disclosed that the fire had been completely extinguished and damping-down operations concluded.
A preliminary assessment indicated that about 21 exotic vehicles were affected, while a section of a nearby building sustained minor damage. No deaths or injuries were recorded.
LASEMA commended the emergency responders for their swift intervention, which prevented what could have developed into a major disaster.
The agency also urged residents to observe safety precautions, particularly in workshops and other locations where inflammable materials are handled.
It advised members of the public to report emergencies through the toll-free numbers 767 and 112.
