The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a driver and impounded a Toyota Corolla bearing a suspected fake Presidency registration number plate.

The command disclosed that the vehicle, a black Toyota Corolla driven by Mr Agbogun Benard, was intercepted by police operatives on October 26, 2026, at about 2:35 p.m., following credible intelligence.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the vehicle, bearing registration number M01-997 FG, was taken to the command headquarters for discreet investigation.
Adeh explained that during preliminary investigations, the driver could not provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the source of the registration number.
She added that investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the allocation, ownership and use of the number plate, as well as the authenticity of the vehicle’s registration particulars.
The command urged residents to remain law-abiding and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through its emergency lines.
