LASU Disowns 6-Week Issuance Certificate Advert

Management of Lagos State University (LASU) has refuted an advert inviting the general public to procure a “legit LASU Certificate in six weeks”.

In a press statement titled: ‘Re-legit Certificate In Lasu’, signed by Thomas-Onashile, Oluwayemisi, University’s Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, the institution described the sponsored post as fake, adding that it is impossible to acquire an authentic certificate from the school in six weeks.

The school authorities urged members of the public to check the university website or its official social media platforms to verify any information in the public space pertaining to the institution.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Lagos State University has been brought to a sponsored post on popular social media platform, Facebook, inviting users to procure “legit LASU Certificate in six weeks”.

“One “Njika Johnson Uchechukwu” with the phone number “08034463893” was listed as the contact person and sure plug for the nefarious activity.

“The general public is hereby brought to notice that this sponsored post has no direct or indirect links to the Lagos State University (LASU), neither is this said fellow, Njika Johnson Uchechukwu, with the phone number 08034463893 a staff of LASU.

“Please note also that it is IMPOSSIBLE to acquire a “legit” certificate from LASU in six weeks and any attempt to do so will not only be deemed criminal, but will amount to an effort in futility.

“Meanwhile, the university management has involved intelligence and law enforcement agencies to track down those behind the offensive post aimed at tarnishing the good reputation of the university.

“Members of the general public are advised to check the university website, www.lasu.edu.ng or its official social media platforms to verify any information in the public space pertaining to the institution.”
