NECO releases 2024 SSCE external results

The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results, conducted from Thursday, 14th November, to Saturday, 14th December, 2024.


While announcing the release of the results at the NECO headquarters on Friday, 14th February 2025, during a press briefing, the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, disclosed that 86,067 candidates registered for the examinations, representing 47.72 per cent, adding that 84,799 candidates sat for the examinations, representing 52.21 per cent.

According to Professor Wushishi, 83,220 candidates sat for the English Language examination, out of which 62,929 (75.62 per cent) obtained Credit and above.
He further highlighted that 83,024 candidates sat for Mathematics, out of which 77,988 (93.93 per cent) obtained Credit and above.

In a similar vein, Wushishi explained that 57,114 candidates (67.35 per cent) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

He revealed that 70,711 candidates (83.39 per cent) obtained five credits and above, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

Professor Wushishi stressed that 6,160 candidates were booked for various forms of malpractice, compared to 8,518 in 2023, indicating a 27.7 per cent decrease.

He added: “Seven supervisors—two each in Oyo and Ogun, and one each in Lagos, Cross River, and Ebonyi states—were recommended for blacklisting due to poor supervision, lateness, and aiding and abetting during the examination.”

Professor Wushishi also hinted that 14 centres—10 in Ogun and four in Oyo—were blacklisted for their involvement in whole-centre malpractice in nine subjects.

He also announced the release of the 2025 Digitalised Staff Annual Posting Calendar which could be accessed by members of staff through apcic.neco.gov.ng/myapc.
