NITDA, NYSC To Offer Digital Skills For Corps Members

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have concluded plans to offer digital skills for Nigerian youths.

Mr Kashifu Inuwa Ibrahim, NITDA Director General, said the strengthened collaboration of both agencies towards digital transformation would increase productivity at all levels.

He stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Brigadier General YD Ahmed, NYSC Director General in his office at the National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

The NITDA boss said efforts are in top gear to use emerging technologies to build the capacity of Corps Members nationwide and ensure digital literacy for all Nigerians.

He said the potentials of the young population must be harnessed to enable every Nigerian have unhindered access to digital literacy.

“We need to explore how we can infuse technology into your processes to secure NYSC certificates.

We have established a Community Development Service (CDS) group on digital skills in Abuja through our office on artificial intelligence and robotics.

Digital Skills are vital for our collective future and prosperity”, he added.

The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed in his contribution said the Scheme was ready to synergize with NITDA in order to achieve the objective of the collaboration.

He commended Mr Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development, for his passion on youth development in Nigeria.

Also in his contribution, the Minister of State for Youth hailed NYSC Management for the mentorship roles being offered the Corps Members throughout their service year.
