The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects for alleged possession and sale of suspected human parts in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The arrests were confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, who said the operation was carried out during a routine stop-and-search along the Adekile area of Agugu in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area.
According to the police, a patrol team intercepted an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, and upon searching the occupants, recovered a package containing flesh suspected to be human intestines.
The rider, identified as Oyategbe Joseph, was immediately apprehended and reportedly confessed to the crime during preliminary investigation.
Following his confession, two other suspects, Onaolapo Taiwo and Ayodele Taiwo, were arrested. The police said both individuals admitted to purchasing the suspected human parts from the initial suspect.
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police in the state has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to the illegal possession or trade in human parts, stressing that community cooperation is vital in maintaining law and order.
