POLICE ARREST VANDAL, FAKE MONEY SUSPECT IN LAGOS

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have successfully apprehended two suspects in Lagos, one for vandalism and the other for possession of counterfeit currency.

The suspects, Emmanuel Zakariah ‘m’ aged 28 and Bright Oshimen ‘m’ aged 22, were arrested on May 16, 2024 and May 15, 2024, respectively.

Emmanuel was arrested at Gbangbala Street, Ikate, Lekki, after being caught stealing a metal drainage slab in broad daylight. Investigations revealed that he had stolen three out of four slabs the previous day and had returned to steal the last one when he was apprehended.

In a separate incident, Bright was arrested in GRA Ikeja on Wednesday after he attempted to purchase goods using a counterfeit N1000 note. During interrogation, Oshimen confessed to buying the fake note for N250 and admitted to having made similar purchases at the same location on two prior occasions.

Both suspects are currently assisting the police to uncover additional details and to apprehend other individuals involved in these crimes.

The Lagos State Police Command remains dedicated to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
