Police Arrests 3 Suspects in Connection with Attack on Camp Site in Abuja

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with the recent attack on a Boys Brigade camping site in Zhayidna Village, Orozo, which claimed the life of a young camper, Johnson John.

Announcing the major breakthrough in its investigation on the matter in s statement issued in Abuja, SP Josephine Adeh, Command spokesperson said police operatives acted on credible intelligence and digital tracking of the deceased’s mobile phones.

According to the statement, this led CSP Mbang Usang, Divisional Police Officer of Karshi, to swiftly mobilize a team of officers who trailed and apprehended three suspects linked to the incident.

The arrested suspects, identified as Stanley Ukweze, Dauda Yohana, and Gemu Adamu, all residents of Wasa Village, Karshi, were taken into custody.
As of the time of their arrest, three mobile phones were recovered, two of which have been confirmed to belong to the deceased.

The Command confirmed that the suspects remain in custody and will be formally charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

CP Ajao Adewale, Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has reiterated the Command’s commitment to conducting a thorough, transparent, and uncompromising investigation to ensure justice is served.

The police also extended gratitude to residents, community leaders, and youth stakeholders for their cooperation and support during the investigation.

The Command further urged members of the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and continue to assist security agencies in safeguarding the territory.
