Police Command Arrests 116 Suspected Drug Dealers in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 116 suspects in a series of raids targeting drug black spots across Abuja.

The operation, which began on August 1, covered areas including Asokoro, Trademore, Mapape, Kurudu, Kubwa, Gwarimpa, Jikwoyi, Utako, Life Camp, Zuba, and Karshi.

Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said illicit substances, hard drugs, and dried leaves suspected to be cannabis were recovered. She added that 89 suspects were released after screening, while 27 were charged to court for public nuisance and drug possession.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, commended the operatives and reiterated the Command’s commitment to a safe, drug-free capital. He urged residents to shun drug abuse and support ongoing security operations.
