The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Peter Sinamai, over the alleged killing of his biological father in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
Sinamai was arrested following a report received by the police concerning the alleged murder, with preliminary investigations linking him to the death of his father.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said operatives recovered the victim’s corpse from a well within the neighbourhood where it was allegedly dumped.
Nguroje said the remains had been deposited at a mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, had ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
The police spokesman assured that the suspect would be charged before a court upon completion of the investigation.
