The Rivers State Police command has confirmed that Mr. Nubari Saatah, President of the Niger Delta Congress (NDC) is in their custody.

This is coming after several online mediums reported that the whereabouts of the group leader is unknown, following a planned protest by his group.
Grace Iringe-koko, Rivers police command spokesperson while confirming it in a statement, said the invitation became necessary due to the NDC,s persistent and emphatic calls for public protests within Rivers state as part of its responsibility to ensure public safety.
According to the police, the command recognizes and upholds the fundamental rights to peaceful assembly, but it remains vigilant to the potential security risks that could arise from such gatherings, saying it can create a room for mischief makers to cause violence.
