Mr. Kelvin Ochai, A Catholic seminarian has been abducted after suspected bandits attacked the residence of the Catholic Bishop of Otukpo Diocese in Benue State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Bishop’s residence in the Asa III area of Otukpo Local Government Area.
The attack was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Chancellor of the Otukpo Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Joseph Aboyi Itodo.
According to the statement, Bishop Michael Ekwoyi Apochi expressed deep sadness over the incident and appealed to members of the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo and other Nigerians to pray for the seminarian’s safe return.
The bishop also urged people of goodwill to remember all victims currently in the custody of kidnappers across the country in their prayers.
“We commit our brother and all those in the kidnappers’ den throughout the country to the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary for their speedy and safe release from the hands of their abductors,” the statement read.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity and recurring attacks by armed groups in parts of Benue State.
