Senator Kashim Shettima: Meet “Made-in-Nigeria” 55 years Old Tinubu’s Vice President

Senator Kashim Shettima,Former Governor of Borno State and Senator has been penciled to be announced running mate for Tinubu.

H.E Kashim Ibrahim Shettima was born on 2nd September 1966 and is a former Governor of Borno State and he is currently a Senator.

Kashim Shettima was born in Maiduguri, Borno state, Nigeria to the family of Sir Kashim Ibrahim. He is married to Nana Shettima with three children.

Shettima obtained all the degree in Nigeria unlike Peter Obi and his Deputy.

Shettima went to Lamisula Primary School in Maiduguri from 1972 to 1978, Government Community Secondary School, Biu in Borno State from 1978 to 1980 and later got transferred to Government Science Secondary School, Potiskum now in neighbouring Yobe State where he finished his secondary education in 1983. He studied at the University of Maiduguri and earned a Degree in Agricultural Economics in the year 1989. He had his one-year compulsory membership of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, at the defunct Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative Bank, Calabar, capital of Cross River State in South-South, Nigeria, from 1989 to 1990. He also obtained a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1991 at the University of Ibadan,Nigeria.

Shettima joined the University of Maiduguri as a Lecturer with the Department of Agricultural Economics and was there from 1991 to 1993.

He started his career in Banking and worked at different positions before he climbed the ladder.He voluntarily resigned from Zenith Bank as a General Manager in 2007 following his appointment as Commissioner for Finance in Borno State.

In the past weeks and months, he has consistently called on Power rotation ahead of 2023 Election.

Shettima who called for power rotation between the northern and southern parts of the country with a view that presidency should shift to the South in 2023 in the spirit of fairness and justice.
