The governors in the South- South geo-political zone of the county have immeasurably declared their full support and also commended President Tinubu for the commencement of coastal road which would serve as a link between the Southern states in Nigeria.
The governors declared their support after a meeting they had in Yenegoa, the capital of Bayelsa. At the meeting, the presence of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state and Governor Douye Diri were noticed, while other Governors also sent their representatives.
Godwin Obaseki, Edo state Governor who also doubles as the Chairman of South-south governing council, briefed the journalist at the end of the meeting, and mentioned enthusiastically, that the project, when completed, will connect the coastal communities to commercial cities in Nigeria.
“We thank Mr. President Ahmed Tinubu for commencing the construction of the coastal road from Lagos to Calabar and appeal that for speedy completion of this road, work should also commence from the Calabar end,”he said.
