Two-Day Old Baby In Viral Video is In Our Custody – Ogun Govt

Following the viral of a video of a woman, calling out the government of Ogun State over a two-day old child found in Ilaro, Yewa South local government of the State, the government has confirmed the whereabout of the child.

Mrs Adijat Adeleye, The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social development, while addressing news conference in Abeokuta, the State capital on the matter, said the child is in the custody of the government.

Adeleye who condemned the viral video, said the government is responsible for any child found within the State, saying the child belongs to Governor Dapo Abiodun.

She said that the woman in the video cannot claim ownership or right on a child found in her community, stressing that the government has the capacity to take care of any found child.

The Commissioner disclosed that the state has a standard process of child adoption if anyone want to do, advising the people of the State to follow due process in adopting a child.
