Professor Oloruntola Sunday, communication scholar and journalist has been appointed as the new Head of Department, Mass Communication, University of Lagos.
Sunday takes over officially today, August 1, 2024 as the new Head of Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, (UNILAG) Akoka.
The approval of his appointment by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Folashade Ogunsola was contained in a letter by the Acting Registrar of the university, Mrs Olakunle Makinde dated July 26, 2024
Professor Sunday who was acting Head of the department in August, 2016- July 2017, takes over from Professor Adepoju Tejumade.
He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and Doctorate in Agricultural Communication from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
He recently completed his sabbatical at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe as Head of Mass Communication of the Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies which under his headship was fully accredited by Nigeria University Commission (NUC) along with twelve other departments.
