UNILAG Petroleum and Gas Student Favour Ikechukwu Wins 3rd ‘Tosin Adesile Essay Competition

Favour Ikechukwu, a 500-level petroleum and Gas Engineering student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has emerged winner of the 3rd edition of the Tosin Adesile Essay competition, (TAEC) organised by the Press Club, University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Hephzibah Ayoola,a 300 level Physiotherapy and Emmanuel Olugbodi, a 400 Level Finance Student, came out as first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.

The Essay which centered on their strongest experience on campus and how it shaped them.

A total of N100,00 in prizes went to the winners. The overall winner received a prize of N50,000, the first runner-up, received N30,000, and the second runner-up up N20,000.

In addition, Tayo Kasogi and Barrister Segun Faniran supported N30,000 and N20,000, respectively.

Dr.Tosin Adesile

Professor Oloruntola Sunday, Dean, Faculty of Media and Communication , University of Lagos presented the prizes to the winners during the 2025 Press Club induction of new members.

The Third Edition in 2026 will have increased cashed prizes and gifts to boost the morale of participants to write quality essays.
