Professor Ruth Haruna, a former head of the Department of Business Management at University of Maiduguri had a fatal accident at her residence in Polo, Maiduguri.

Confirming the incident on Monday, Yusuf Lawal, Borno State Commissioner of Police said the incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

According to reports by her family and the Borno State Police Command indicate that Prof. Ruth Haruna, a 64 years old woman tragically lost her life when her own vehicle rolled over her after she parked it on her sloped driveway to open the gate to enter.

The university and local community converged to mourn with her husband Professor Wazis Haruna, three children and three grandchildren.
