Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration,has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.

Idris, who retired from the civil service on April 24, 2026, previously served as Director of Procurement in the FCT Administration, a position he assumed in July 2021.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Idris was described as a seasoned public servant with over three decades of experience in administration, finance, and public sector procurement.
According to the statement, Idris rose to the position of Director, Common Services (Procurement) in August 2019 before his redeployment to head the Department of Procurement in July 2021. In these roles, he played key parts in overseeing procurement processes and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards.
The statement noted that his extensive experience across critical administrative and procurement functions contributed significantly to institutional efficiency and improved service delivery within the FCT Administration.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, is expected to further strengthen procurement processes and governance within the FCT.
