IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, Inspector-General of Police, has ordered massive security deployment across the country to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration.

Disu also extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful as they mark Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a directive issued to Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory, the IGP mandated the implementation of robust security measures during the festive period.
The measures include the strategic deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operatives, and personnel of the Special Intervention Squad to churches, critical infrastructure, and other key locations.
According to the police, there will also be increased security presence along highways, motor parks, recreational centres, and other public spaces to guarantee hitch-free celebrations throughout the Easter period.
The IGP further ordered enhanced visibility policing, coordinated patrols, surveillance operations, and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties to deter criminal activities and ensure rapid response to any emerging threats.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report suspicious movements to the nearest police station or through designated emergency lines.
Disu wished Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, assuring that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to safeguarding lives and property.
