National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says bridging the digital gap is now its top priority as the 2026 Hajj season approaches coupled with the Saudi Arabia’s move to fully digital its system.

Tafawa Hamza Mayo reports that for this purpose Executive Secretaries of all Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards from 36 states and the FCT gathered in Abuja for a high-level strategic session with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
The NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman notes the meeting centered on aligning Nigeria with Saudi Arabia’s “Nusuk” digital platform, a system now mandatory for all Hajj logistics.
While the Kingdom makes strides in digitalizing the Hajj experience, he says they reserve concerns for pilgrims in rural Nigeria who face low digital literacy and limited internet access.
The Stakeholders agreed on a unified training manual to be deployed at the local government level to ensure a seamless 2026 exercise.
With the digital clock ticking for Hajj operations, NAHCON’s proactive approach is seen aiming to turn technological challenges into a simplified experience for the Nigerian Hajj pilgrims.
