Nuhu Ribadu, National security adviser has assured the government and people of Benue State of the federal government support to end the menace and bring succor to the people, Following the attacks on Benue communities by armed herdsmen and bandits which has left almost two hundred people dead in less than two weeks.
Mr Ribadu. stated this when he visited Governor Hyacinth Alia in government house Makurdi, where he gave the assurance that he is Benue on the instruction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to inform of his determination to end insecurity in the state.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, stated that the attack of not tackled may threaten food security as the communities where these food are been produced are the attacked communities
Meanwhile the traditional rulers also lend their voice to the attacks which they say has displaced them and several communities, calling on the federal government to implement the law against open grazing.
With these attacks in Benue the number of IDPs has now increased to 17.
