The Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) has dismissed a staff member, Garba Ahmed, over his alleged involvement in the illegal upload of unqualified students for the National Youth Service Corps mobilisation.

The decision was approved by the university’s Governing Council at its 176th meeting held on April 1, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Ismaila Mohammed Yauri.
Yauri stated that the dismissed staff member, who worked in the Registry Department, was found guilty of gross misconduct.
“His dismissal takes effect from the date of Council’s decision,” the statement noted.
The university reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on serious misconduct, warning that any staff found culpable of similar offences would face appropriate disciplinary action.
