In a bid to end the cycle of corruption which has hampered development in Nigeria, diplomatic efforts are being made by the federal government, to initiate recovery of looted funds stashed in foreign lands.
This is yielding results, as the United States of America signed an agreement in Abuja to return 52.88 million dollars illicit funds recovered from Diezani Allison -Madueke, former petroleum resources minister and her associates.
In line with the current administration’s intolerance for corruption, the ministry of justice says the international agencies on transparency will be involved in monitoring expenditure on the recovered funds.
