Nigeria Defeats Gabon 4-1 in World Cup Qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have secured 4-1 victory over Gabon in their 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff semifinal match, held at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday night.

The win keeps Nigeria’s World Cup dreams alive, as they edge closer to securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The team put on an impressive display, outscoring their opponents with four unanswered goals until the 89th minute when Gabon pulled one back.

The victory sets the stage for Nigeria’s next challenge, the final matchup against the winner of the Cameroon & DR Congo playoff.
