MAPOLY Governing Council Approves Appointment of 24 Senior Academic Staff

The Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has approved the appointment of 24 senior academic staff as part of efforts to strengthen the institution’s academic workforce and enhance staff motivation.

The approval was granted during the Council’s statutory meeting held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The appointments comprise 10 Chief Lecturers, 13 Principal Lecturers, and one Chief Technologist, covering the 2022, 2023 and 2024 promotion years.

According to the institution, the appointments will take retrospective effect from October 1 of each respective promotion year.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to ensuring that staff promotions and appointments are processed promptly as and when due.

He said the exercise was designed not only to reward and motivate deserving staff but also to reposition the Polytechnic among the leading polytechnics in Nigeria.

Balogun commended members of staff for their dedication, resilience and commitment to the growth and development of the institution, urging them to sustain their efforts toward achieving academic excellence.

Also speaking, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Arc. Dr. ‘Koye Jolaoso, congratulated the beneficiaries and assured all staff of the institution’s commitment to fairness, equity and justice in matters relating to career progression.

He urged the newly appointed officers to justify the confidence reposed in them through greater dedication, improved productivity and unwavering commitment to their responsibilities.

The appointments are expected to further strengthen academic leadership and support the Polytechnic’s drive to improve teaching, research and institutional development.
