The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it will continue to place premium on issues of unintended air strikes on civilians during the course of it’s operations and will ensure that any of such will be thoroughly investigated and resolved.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Chief of Civil Military, made this known while receiving a delegation from Amnesty international Nigeria at the Civil Military Branch of Headquarters Nigerian Airforce.
He noted that, the meeting was to raise observations of unintended airstrikes and clarification between the Nigerian Air Force and Amnesty international Nigeria, that as a global human rights body they sought answers to researches from 25th December 2024 to 2026.
He added that after a comprehensive brief they arrived at transparency as the watchword and to take responsibility where they are responsible as the civilian harm assessment and investigation team is always on standby and activated immediately to conduct thorough investigations and recommendations.
