Senator Aminu Waziri, Former Sokoto State Governor and Tambuwal has reaffirmed his commitment to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, dismissing reports that he is considering a move to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general election.

Tambuwal’s position was contained in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Prince Daniel, on behalf of the AWT Media Office.
The media office described the reports circulating on social media as false and baseless, urging the public not to interpret Tambuwal’s interactions with politicians from other parties as evidence of a planned defection.
According to the statement, Tambuwal’s longstanding relationships with political figures across party lines are part of his engagement with stakeholders and do not signify any change in his political allegiance.
It said photographs and video clips being circulated online failed to establish that the senator was negotiating to join the APC.
“Senator Tambuwal remains firmly committed to the ADC,” the statement said.
The former governor, according to his media office, is focused on strengthening the ADC, building wider political cooperation and mobilising Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement also urged Nigerians to pay greater attention to the country’s economic, security and governance challenges instead of unverified political claims.
Tambuwal’s media team further reaffirmed his commitment to accountable leadership, democratic values and the welfare of Nigerians.
It appealed to media organisations and social media commentators to verify information concerning the senator with his media office before publishing or circulating such reports.
The statement warned that political speculation should not be presented as established fact.
