Aiyedatiwa Commends Tinubu, Security Agencies Over Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa,of Ondo State has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State, describing the operation as a victory for the nation’s security architecture.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed profound relief and gratitude to God over the safe return of the victims.

The governor commended President Tinubu for providing what he described as decisive leadership and the necessary support that enabled a swift and coordinated security operation leading to the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers.

He also lauded the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun), and local vigilante groups for their professionalism, courage, and effective collaboration throughout the rescue mission.

“The safe rescue of these pupils and their teachers is a victory for all of us and a testament to the commitment of the Federal Government to protect the lives and property of Nigerians,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor congratulated his Oyo State counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the successful outcome of the operation, noting that the development had brought relief to the affected families and the nation at large.

Aiyedatiwa further reaffirmed Ondo State’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with neighbouring states and federal security agencies to enhance regional security, prevent similar incidents, and safeguard schools across the South-West.

He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the rescued victims who may have suffered psychological trauma during their captivity and assured the Government and people of Oyo State of Ondo State’s solidarity and continued support.
