The Delta State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, scheduled for Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20.

The Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, said the Command has ordered the strategic deployment of personnel across Delta State to ensure a peaceful and secure festive period.
He noted that the security arrangement includes robust operational deployment of conventional police personnel, tactical units and other operational assets at Eid prayer grounds and other key locations across the state.
Adesola also assured Muslim faithful and residents of measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property, as well as ensuring the free flow of traffic during the celebrations.
The police chief warned criminal elements, including cultists and other troublemakers, to stay away from unlawful activities, stressing that the Command is fully prepared to deal decisively with any threat to public peace.
He further directed Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders and Tactical Commanders to intensify intelligence-led raids on criminal hideouts and black spots. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations was also tasked with ensuring effective coordination and supervision of all deployments before, during and after the festivities.
The Command urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
Adesola, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
