The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force as part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen leadership within the Force.

The postings was disclosed in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, on March 24, 2026.
The postings, announced on Tuesday, are aimed at reinforcing the command structure and ensuring the strategic deployment of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments nationwide.
Under the new arrangement, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) have been assigned to key departments at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. AIG Ado Emmanuel will head Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo takes charge of the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye has been posted to Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.
Other postings include AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Affairs, AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15, Maiduguri, AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina. AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba has been deployed to Legal Services, while AIG Ahmed Musa will oversee Community Policing. AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been posted to Zone 2, Lagos, with AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom assigned to FCID Annex, Lagos, and AIG Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit.
In the same vein, several Commissioners of Police (CPs) have been deployed to state commands and strategic units. CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been posted to Jigawa State Command, CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State Command, CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command, and CP Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State Command.
Others include CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa, CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Commands. CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed has been assigned to the Federal Capital Territory Command, while CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai takes over Lagos State Command.
At the Force Headquarters and other formations, CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been posted to Welfare, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Training and Staff Development, and CP Aina Abesola to the Training Department.
Additional deployments include CP Akan Ezima as Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), CP Abbas Sule to the Special Protection Unit, and CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to INTERPOL, Abuja. CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus has been appointed Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy (POLAC), while CP Danjuma I. Yahaya and CP Sheik M. Danko have been posted to FCID Annexes in Kaduna and Lagos respectively.
Further postings saw CP Moses Ashu Otta assigned to SWAT, Abuja; CP Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to the Eastern Ports Authority; CP Sarah Ehindero to Administration at FCID, Abuja; and CP Edwin Ogbegbghagha as Provost, Force Headquarters.
Also affected are CP Preye R. Egbe to INEC, Abuja; CP Adebisi Bola Lateef to Master Printing, Lagos; CP Bolou O. Etete to Community Policing, Research and Planning; and CP Ojugbele E. Adebola to General Investigation, FCID Alagbon, Lagos.
In addition, CP Fidelis N. Ogarabe has been posted to INTERPOL Annex, Lagos; CP Theodore C. Obasi as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; CP Eloho E. Okpoziakpo to the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi; and CP Kayode Uthman Magaji to the K-9 Unit, Dei-Dei, under the Department of Operations.
Others include CP Markus Ishaku Basiran to Courses at POLAC; CP Mohammed Babakura to Administration, Department of Operations; CP Silas Bamidele Aremu to Safer Highway; CP Magaji Ismaila to Community Safety and Crime Prevention; and CP Rebecca Uchenna Okereke as Director of Music, Force Headquarters.
The IGP charged the affected officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new assignments and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service in the discharge of their duties.
