POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED ARMED BANDIT SYNDICATE MEMBERS IN SHANONO LGA

Kano Police command has arrested two suspected armed bandit syndicate operating around Farin Ruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa says acting on credible intelligence from members of the community, the combine operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad and Shanono Division, conducted a coordinated tactical operation on Friday 24th October, 2025.
During the operation, two suspects believed to be members of an armed bandit syndicate were arrested.

The suspects are alleged to have been collaborating with bandits operating within the area, attempting to infiltrate Kano State.

The Kano State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori while commending the operatives and the community members for their cooperation with the police says the command will continue to intensify efforts to ensure the safety and security of lives and property across the State.
It adds, the Command has launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the extent of their activities and connections. Efforts are intensified to apprehend other members of the syndicate and bring them to justice.

He urges all residents of Kano State to remain vigilant and continue to support the Police by reporting suspicious activities promptly.
