The Kebbi State Police Command has warned residents against blocking the Kebbi–Sokoto Federal Highway, saying violators will be arrested and prosecuted.

The warning comes days after suspected Lakurawa bandits attacked a construction site along the Sokoto–Badagry Road, killing four workers.
Police spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, said in a statement on Friday that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Muhammed Hadejia, directed residents to avoid actions that could disrupt the movement of motorists, commuters and goods.
Hadejia urged members of the public to maintain responsible conduct and respect the rights of other road users.
The commissioner also called on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against joining unlawful gatherings along major roads without legitimate reasons.
According to him, anyone found obstructing traffic or participating in unlawful activities along the highway would be apprehended and prosecuted.
The command said the measure was necessary to safeguard lives, maintain public order and ensure uninterrupted movement along the federal highway.
