Soludo Orders End to Aguleri-Umuoba Anam Hostilities

Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra State Governor has intervened in the communal dispute between Aguleri and Umuoba Anam communities in Anambra East Local Government Area.

The clash reportedly resulted in loss of life and injuries.

In a statement by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary, Governor Soludo expressed sadness over the incident and called for an immediate end to hostilities.

The governor has also summoned an emergency peace and security meeting with key stakeholders from the affected communities.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Light House in Awka.

Governor Soludo directed both communities to maintain peace and restraint while urging them to channel all grievances and claims through their designated representatives at the meeting.

The statement also ordered security agencies, including the Police, to intensify their presence in the area to protect lives and property and prevent further violence.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to resolving communal disputes peacefully and maintaining security across Anambra State.
