President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he undertook a series of political, governmental, and national engagements.

The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at exactly 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday and was received by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu; and other senior government officials.
During the holiday period, President Tinubu received Vice President Kashim Shettima and several groups on traditional Sallah homage visits.
Among the visitors were members of the leadership of the Senate led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, as well as members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum under the leadership of its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The President also hosted All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Oyo State, including the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, alongside APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State.
As part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy, President Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review at Eko Atlantic City Waterfront on Monday.
During the event, he commissioned three naval vessels — NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.
The President also held talks with Romuald Wadagni, a meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral relations, regional cooperation and economic partnership between Nigeria and the neighbouring Republic of Benin.
Prior to the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Tinubu participated in the All Progressives Congress primaries held in Lagos to elect candidates for various elective positions, including state assemblies, governorship seats, the National Assembly and the presidency.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu voted during the party’s presidential primary and emerged as the APC’s flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election following what the party described as overwhelming nationwide support.
The statement noted that the President’s engagements during the holiday period reflected his continued involvement in governance, party affairs and regional diplomacy.
