Operatives of the Enugu state police command says it has arrested an 18-year-old man named Obodoagu Ikediekpere and his 24-year-old Accomplice for the kidnapping and murder of his 5-year-Old male cousin.
The command in a statement by Daniel Ndukwe, public relations officer said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Tactical squad following intelligence which was gathered after a ransom was reported.
According to the police, the child was first reported missing on July 26th with an initial ransom of one million naira from the victim’s father. The child was said to have been murdered when the ransom was not met and was buried in a bush near their residence.
The suspects were said to have confessed to the crime and led police operatives to where he was buried before the corpse was exhumed in the presence of a medical doctor who certified the child dead.
