The United States, U.S. has reviewed its visa policy of frozen applications, under the travel ban system, and exempted medical doctors from earlier restrictions.

Galaxy Television gathered that the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, updating its guidelines, exempted medical doctors from the restriction, clearing their applications to proceed, including Nigerians.

The New York Times, in a report, noted setbacks in the earlier policy introduced in January, which restrained visa extensions, work permits, and green cards for citizens of over 39 countries. The policy constrained foreign-trained doctors from working.

Galaxy Television further gathered that a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security briefed the New York Times on the policy review, disclosing that the applications related to medical physicians will continue processing.
