The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recorded significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat crime, with the recovery of 17 stolen vehicles and the arrest of 14 suspects linked to criminal activities across Abuja.

The Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, disclosed that the achievements followed intensified intelligence-led policing, surveillance, and targeted operations carried out between March 2026 and mid-April 2026.

According to the Police, the operations were conducted across key divisions, including Mabushi, Durumi, Maitama, and the Central Police Station, leading to the dismantling of car theft syndicates and “one chance” robbery networks operating within the Territory.

In a related development, operatives foiled a “one chance” armed robbery attempt on April 10, 2026. One suspect was arrested at the scene after an exchange of gunfire, while another was apprehended during follow-up investigations. Two female victims were rescued from the suspects’ vehicle and are currently receiving necessary care.

The Command stated that all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

It also warned against the spread of false security information, noting that the recent arrest and arraignment of one Pam Joshua for circulating misleading content underscores the criminal nature of such actions and their potential to incite public panic.

The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and proactive in reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.

Residents were also encouraged to make use of the Command’s emergency line, 08032003913, in reporting incidents and seeking assistance.
