The Ogun State Police Command has intensified security measures across the state ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, assuring residents of adequate protection and a peaceful festive period.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the command said the proactive security arrangements were put in place under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, to guarantee safety before, during and after the celebration.
The command disclosed that personnel and operational assets had been strategically deployed to Eid prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, residential areas and other public locations across the state.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the deployment is aimed at ensuring visible policing, effective crowd control, early threat detection and swift response to security concerns during the festive period.
The police added that all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders had been placed on high alert and directed to intensify patrols, stop-and-search operations and supervision of officers within their jurisdictions.
The command also stressed the need for stronger collaboration with community leaders, transport unions and other stakeholders to improve intelligence gathering and prevent any breakdown of law and order.
Residents were urged to celebrate responsibly and remain security conscious throughout the season.
The police advised parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards, while warning against acts capable of disrupting public peace, including thuggery, cult-related activities, reckless driving and other forms of disorderly conduct.
Ojajuni reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property across the state.
He also encouraged residents to promptly report suspicious movements or activities through the command’s emergency lines and nearby police formations.
