President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing the assault as a barbaric and cowardly act of terror against innocent citizens.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, claimed the lives of about 30 residents, including women and children, while several houses were reportedly set ablaze.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.
Tinubu said the perpetrators were bent on destabilising the hard-earned peace and security that Kaduna State has enjoyed in recent times but vowed that they would not go unpunished.
The President extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Government and the people of the state over the tragic incident.
He assured the state government and the affected communities of the Federal Government’s support, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to addressing security challenges across the country.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
Tinubu reiterated his administration’s determination to strengthen the nation’s security architecture by providing adequate support for security agencies and dismantling criminal networks threatening the country’s peace.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he stated.
The President also appealed to residents of affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and actionable intelligence to support ongoing operations and prevent future attacks.
He assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue to work with security agencies to protect lives and property while ensuring that those behind violent attacks are identified and prosecuted.
