Prince Dapo Abiodun,Governor of Ogun State has charged Corps Members to strive to break new grounds by doing better than their predecessors in the course of their service year.
The Governor who was represented by the Hon Commissioner, Sports. Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka gave the charge while presiding over the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2023 Batch C Stream two Corps Members deployed to Ogun State at the gateway International Stadium, Sagamu.
Governor Abiodun who praised their predecessor for their Sterling track records, charged the Course Participant to not only keep the flag flying but surpass such records with good behaviours and fine characters.
While enjoining the Corps Members to give their best to the Nation through dedicated service to their host communities and Places of Primary Assignment, he said his administration gives preference to Youth Development through the . I. S. E. Y. A.( Infrastructure, Social Welfare, Education, Youth Empowerment, Agriculture) initiative.
The number one citizen of the State, however, called on Corporate Organizations, Non Governmental Organizations and Well-Meaning individuals to join hands with government in providing enabling environment to help the youths thrive as the task of moulding the youths to be responsible leaders of tomorrow can not be left alone in the hands of the government.
While urging the Corps Members to eagerly participate in all the cardinal programmers of the Scheme, he charged them to exhibit the highest level of responsibility, integrity, patriotism, loyalty, dedication, discipline and commitment to the nation through out their service year and beyond.
Earlier, the NYSC Ogun State Coordinator, Mrs. Nasamu Olayinka Diana in her introductory address, revealed that a total of 3,011 Prospective Corps Members comprising 669 males and 1292 females for Ogun and 540 males and 520 females for Lagos have registered before the cut off date and time, adding that they have all settled down and adapting to the regimentation of camp.
High points of the event are the administration of the national pledge and NYSC Oath of Allegiance on the Corp Members by the Chief Judge of Ogun State ably represented by Hon. Justice T.A Okunsokan and the inauguration of Camp Court.
