Special Security Task Force Storm Blackspots, Arrest 12 Suspected Cult Members in Edo

The Edo State, South-South Nigeria, may have come under the siege of cult violence, breeding uncertainty in several communities.

The Edo State Special Security Task Force, accordingly intensified crime fighting apparatus, stormed blackspots in two communities – Uzebu and Iyanumor – in swift response to reported cult clashes.

The Task Force members, in collaboration with the Edo State Police Command, combed the communities and arrested over 12 suspected cultists.

The Edo State Special Security Task Force arrived at the communities as early as 7.00am, cordoned off the areas, and apprehended the suspected cultists into waiting vans for onward transportation to Benin City.

Mr. George Aburime, publicity secretary of the Task Force, assured that the arrested suspects would be handed over to the police for possible prosecution.
