A United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster III has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Lagos and Kainji as part of an ongoing foreign military sales agreement between the two countries.

The delivery was confirmed by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Thursday.
In a post on X, AFRICOM described it as “Partnership in action,” stating that the equipment forms part of a foreign military sales agreement that furthers the U.S.-Nigerian defence partnership and will support Nigeria’s efforts to counter terrorism in the region.
AFRICOM’s official statement further noted that the delivery enhances Nigerian-led efforts against terrorism and stressed that U.S. military support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria is provided by invitation and rooted in respect for Nigerian sovereignty.
No specific details of the equipment or its value were disclosed.
